Floating Competition Rules
- Floating Competitions are those competitions, which run throughout a 12-month period, which begins the day after the End Of Season Cup (always a Monday) and runs up to and includes the final day of the End Of Season Cup the following year, (always a Sunday).
- The competitions are ABC Club Competition for all ABC members and their immediate family (spouse and children up to 18 years of age.)
- The information to decide on the winner shall be extracted from the Fishing Book and/or the Tag and Release Book.
- Only readable and correctly signed in entries shall be accepted.
- Only non-mutilated fish shall be accepted.
- The IGFA rules shall be applied.
- The onus is on the competitor to know the rules.
There are nine Floating Competitions divided into two categories.Category One - Barracuda Cup
- Dolphinfish Cup
- Jack Cup
- Mackerel Cup
- Red Snapper Cup
- Tuna Shield
- Wahoo Cup
The winner of a category one competition shall be the angler with the largest individual fish of the species stipulated in the competition name.Category Two Marlin Tag and Release Cup Additional rules for Category Two are as follows: - No landed Marlins shall be accepted in this competition.
- A release without a tag shall not be accepted.
- All Marlins, which are tagged and released, shall earn 1 point each.
- The winner shall be the person with the most points based on the above stipulations.
- In case of a dead heat, competitors will share the points.
- If two people take first place, the second place falls away and the next prize is the third place.
- If three people take first place, there will be no second and third place.
- The same applies to dead heats for second place.
Sailfish Tag and Release Cup- No landed Sailfish shall be accepted in this competition.
- A release without a tag shall not be accepted.
- All Sailfish, which are tagged and released, shall earn 1 point each.
- The winner shall be the person with the most points based on the above stipulations.
